Faith in the Blind
May you all find what you’re looking for this year.
To people who want to see my stuff on sites other than tumblr, I’ve got an instagram and twitter (@vetyyr for both)!
Pandora follows Seth’s gaze towards the entrance, pointing at a human looking man that is now staring at them. She raises an eyebrow and dismisses immediately the comment her partners throws with his sign language. “That man? Nah, must be a mistake, he might be just a creeper,” she speaks casual and gets back to the topic of conversation they were sharing…
((PANDY CAN BE AN ASS TOO XD NOTHING PERSONAL YOLO))
Lips pursing at Seth’s message, he nods just a fraction, appreciative of the helpful pointer. It’s not an issue he plans on having for much longer, but for now he is a bit limited in his ability to communicate so is the best he could think to manage. Pandy’s return does not go unnoticed, but he also can’t find it in him to look her way yet. Neither does Seth’s second lesson go ignored when he pointedly faces his mate before signing to her, something else easy enough to remember. Curiosity has him watching both of their rapidly moving hands, though somehow it feels awkwardly like eavesdropping. When the other man moves to gather his things, Puck fidgets and scratches at the back of his neck, sheepishly glancing in her direction before finally drumming up the courage to speak up. “Pandora, if I promise to do plenty of groveling at your feet later, could I please beg a favor of you? Would… would it be rude if I asked you to tell him I promise to make a better impression next time?“
After speaking up to Seth she glances back to Puck who was now holding a more peaceful attitude, and that made her wonder if these two decided to put things in place and talks about it. Maybe the fae yes got her message after all.
His requests made her frown but this time in surprise. didnt she spoke just now? “What? I mean. You can tell him by yourself?” she glances back to Seth who apparently didn’t tell Puck that he is simply mute and there is no need to reply with the sign language. “Seth can hear you just well. that’s why I will ask you to be nice. So!” she claps once and smiles back to her partner. “Closing! have a good night and please, sorry for this.” she asks nicely while picks up her stuffs. keys, and bag with normal clothes.
It sounded like that particular cat was out of the bag now, and as Seth hefts his backpack on over his shoulders, there’s an embarrassed and sheepish look on his face already even before he turns around to face the two of them. Regardless of whether Puck would be able to understand it yet he’s already signing a simple ‘sorry’ several times in a row while walking back out around the counter
It wasn’t like Puck’s assumption was really that uncommon and Seth knew how much more likely to happen it was in comparison. Instead of sticking around, he’s the first to the door though once there he waits for the other two to make sure Pandora was alright going him with Puck; after how the other man had referred to her earlier it was easy to guess why he had shown up.
The fae is relatively certain he could not look more stricken than he did at this moment, to the point that even his normal human-looking ears flushed pink from humiliation as the apologetic man slides past. And no worries, Puck well knows what ‘sorry’ looks like at this point, given that he’d just taken the time to learn it for this one’s supposed benefit! A nervous tittering chuckle slips out, hands rubbing at the burning of his cheeks as he plasters on a weak smile. “Well then, who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks, tonight has been extremely educational!“
Turning heavy on his heel to follow Seth to the door, he stands to the side and opens it wide for the other man to go ahead while waiting for Pandy to gather her things. The fae snorts wryly, glaring over the shorter man’s head. “I’ve made a right ass out of myself tonight… it was not my intention, nor was any insult you may have incurred.” Towards Pandy he holds out his free hand expectantly, an offering for her bag so that she could lock up more easily. “Come my lady, let me begin my penance as your valet for the evening.“
She doesn’t miss the look on both boy’s faces, yet, manage pretty well in not say anything to make them feel better emotionally. they are both adults and if they did the fool they will survive. Not that Puck social life is a mess. He is old and sure not the first time he did something weird. I mean. He ran naked.
she turns off the computer, picks her handbag and the keys. turns off the lights, gives a last look around before turns around and walk towards the entrance. She doesn’t even doubt in give Puck her handbag, walking out from the Coffee shop to close the door.
“I guess now we can jump to the introduction.” she glares back to both. Puck and Seth.

The only thing I could think when I saw this scene… #ded

((PANDY CAN BE AN ASS TOO XD NOTHING PERSONAL YOLO))
The fae tries with minimal success to hide the disappointment as a miffed Pandy disappears to the back, briefly considering following to help with whatever routine he had slowed down but doesn’t see himself being very successful in that endeavor right now. His downtrodden expression is quickly replaced with one akin to a deer in headlights as the other man’s hands spring to life, and Puck has a brief sensation of being in slightly over his head. At least his apology seemed to have been successful. The fae cannot translate completely what Seth says, but most of his hand movements are relatively obvious so he feel like he gets the gist of what is being said, though that doesn’t mean he has any idea how to respond in like. Hoping he’s not doing anything too terribly rude he offers his own apologetic look towards Seth while giving the universal ‘one moment’ signal, and pulls his blessed cell phone back out. Fiddling with the stylus against the screen for a moment, he offers both over to the other man after he scribbles a message on a notepad app with an air of embarrassment; he would definitely be fixing this inadequacy for next time. Even on something as simple as an app, the penmanship is florid and elegant, something more fitting on a wedding invitation than a phone screen.
“She is most likely the harbinger of my death after today. Again, I do regret hindering your routine. I hope this method is not rude, I am currently out of my element. I am Robin, pleasure to meet you.”
The kitchen offers her the silence she needs to cool down her system. The mental image that her recording brain played while Puck dropped the package on the floor like a buckle that just upsets her more over and over again each time it repeats until she shuts it down. It’s like a joke of her defensive jealous nanomites uses to keep her alert and push the fae away. she learned to ignore it but it’s difficult when he decides to play fool.
She washes does her best to not use her super speed often, keeping her hands busy. Keeping her mind busy to not think. It’s hard. she neither wants to leave Seth’s and Puck alone for too long but at least hopes her warning is enough to make Puck stay in line.
The Android clean her hands once all was done, deciding to return to the front of the battlefield just to find the Fae front the counter speaking? with -Seth. She froze in place and stares to both from her place. - “Seth. All done in the back. if you are done here I can turn off the lights. You should pick your stuff too. Don’t forget anything, okay?” She has the keys tonight and gives him the chance to leave to rest. He did well today and she is all polite to him, smiling gently.
The frozen and anxious look on Puck’s face to start with has Seth swallowing an otherwise silent laugh to try and keep his expression level even as the urge to do so has him pressing his lips tightly shut. Waiting patiently after that ‘one moment’ gesture, the sight of that phone appearing again, that the message being typed on it was most likely to help Puck with signs the other man didn’t know yet, has some of that amusement morphing into a sting of disappointment.
Another emotion that’s short lived as soon as he gets to the end of the message, mouthing the name before rereading the rest a second time. Miming typing on a phone keyboard first to let Puck know what he was about to do, Seth has his own cell out not afterward. I’m okay with it. Not everyone is, though, okay? he warns ahead of time, wanting to head that potential social problem off before it becomes a habit for Puck. What’s with the first part?
Before he can turn the screen back to where Puck can see the second part of the message, Pandora is back and Seth reflexively hits the power button on the back; repocketing the phone, he shoots a quick look Puck’s way before turning his whole body to face Pandora. ‘Will do my best not to, but thanks.’ With her, he doesn’t need to slow down, thankfully, and her polite smile is returned in kind.
With that done, it’s Puck’s turn to get the ‘one minute’ before Seth goes to grab the backpack of textbooks he had stashed behind the counter.
Lips pursing at Seth’s message, he nods just a fraction, appreciative of the helpful pointer. It’s not an issue he plans on having for much longer, but for now he is a bit limited in his ability to communicate so is the best he could think to manage. Ouch. Given the option of battle queen and disappointed mate, Puck decides he would choose the former every time. Visibly cringing at her flat and dismissive tone as she returns the sugar, the fae watches her retreating form with a heavy sigh; for the second time now he’s tried to do the stereotypical ‘boy picks up girl from work’ mortal thing, and for the second time he’s made an ass of himself in her workplace. How annoying. Glancing between the two employees, his face scrunches in thought before pulling out his phone. After a brief few moments of digging around the blessed thing called YouTube (has saved his ass more than once, sheer genius this thing), he grudgingly slides out of his chair and shuffles over to them both. Taking a second to make sure his fingers were in the correct position, something akin to a fist, he places it against his chest before his earnest gaze searches to meet Seth’s, then moves his hand in wide circles. He’s not sure if the man is deaf, or can read lips, but still he adds a verbal apology meant for the both of them. “I am… sorry, for causing trouble.” He hopes it is at least satisfactory, given his limited knowledge.
She is now making her way back to the counter where Seth is, mostly to finish her job. Having Puck there and acting like a kid just pushes her to move faster. Thing that she has no energy to do. Seth concerns relaxes her features, having forgetting about her scary expression. “ yes. I am fine. Let’s finish this so we can all go home.” She misses Pucks mute words while pick up the tray once again to clean all. She will have to use her super speed once she is alone in the kitchen without Seth’s eyes over her…
Not protesting Pandora’s escape yet, Puck’s approach pulls Seth’s attention away from responding to what she’d said. At first his expression is blank, watching Puck’s hands, before Seth’s expression brightens.
His responding sign is more enthusiastic, forgetting the need to be slow for comprehension reasons after how clumsy Puck’s first attempt looked. ‘Thanks. Easy to clean up at least, right?’ Not that Seth had been the one to clean it up, and even if Pandora wasn’t within line of sight he still shoots a guiltily apologetic look toward the entrance to the back room. ‘So you two do know each other?’ he asks, hands moving a touch slower than his usual speed.
Depending on what the answer was, there was a chance he would have to talk to Pandora about that later.

There was nothing funny about the situation. There was nothing funny about the cacophony of noise, and had his typically pointed ears not been glamoured at the moment, you would have seen them cringe downward like a dog preparing for a rolled up magazine. Certainly there was no humor to find in that.
There was definitely nothing funny about the way her tiny feet stomped their way towards him to glower at him with the promise of a painful death as the projectile sugar packet was slammed in front of him.
And yet. Somehow, a stifled snort is able to escape his lips before he clamps down on his tongue. Eyes still dutifully locked on the world outside the window as he tries to gather himself, he tries to mask any lingering amusement in his tone. “My apologies love, I’d begun to fear I’d become invisible and had been testing the effects. What a relief to see that I was wrong!” A deep breath and he flattens his features as he turns to face her, his body stiffening at the sight. He knows it’s a sign of insanity to think her this glorious in her fit of anger, but it doesn’t stop the way his face softens dreamily at the vision of her. ”By the Powers, if this is to be my death, at least it is a beautiful one.“
She sharpens her frown and the looks she gives him does not soften under the charm of his words or the puppy eyes he uses. The bot knows well how he responds when he knows he fucked up a d this time there is no awwwww is fine!- coming out from her lips. She closes her eyes for a moment to not say anything she might regret later. It takes her little time before look back to him. Then, ignoring the attempt to calm her, she bends down, and with a sighs she picks from the floor each small package of sugar he dropped before.
“ we close in 5 minutes” she replies, leaving the sugar on the correct place. Then she walks back to where Seth is to wash the clutter and the dishes.
‘You sure everything is okay?’ Seth asks when Pandora begins walking back, taking a momentary pause only long enough to speak; he was partway done, at least with the first step, and it didn’t take all that much time to say something regardless.
At least the sugar was picked up, but Puck’s open flirting calls what she’d said into immediate question, and he’s watching her closely with a wondering look on his face in the hopes of an explanation.

Lips pursed in continued annoyance at his continued dismissal, one elegant eyebrow arches high as he grabs another few packets of sugar and pointedly drops them onto the tableone. at. a. time. -”Good Sr. if you are ready to order, trust me is enough with just raise a hand.”- She adds with a forced polite tone of voice, looking down to him with pursed lips and a deep deep deeeeeeeeep frown.
Mentally flinching at the sound of clinking glass, Seth only relaxes when Pandora sets the tray down with everything unbroken - he’s still half-watching the two of them as she goes over to talk to Puck, her raised hand having been met with an ‘alright’ nod in answer.
That wasn’t going to stop him from being prepared to step in if it ended up being needed, even if it didn’t look as if Pandora needed the help just yet. Her frosty tone that he can hear even behind the counter is enough of a sign of that. Until then, he still had wrap-up cleaning to finish.

Not immediately receiving a greeting of any sorts only deepens the sour look on his face and solidifies his petulant attitude, completely missing the red head’s amusement at his expense. Side-eyeing said woman, he pulls a few packets of sugar from the holder on his table and drops them in front of him with a lightplop. Flicking at them delicately he sends them twirling closer and closer to the edge of the table, until in a final moment of assholery he sends them plummeting over the edge to hit the floor with a defiant smack. With an indifferent sniff, emerald eyes slide back over to the rest of the sugar packets nestled in their holder…
The soft smack noise did not call her attention right away, being the cluttery more loud when you pick all over a small tray and balance everything to not drop anything. She is quite busy right now but yes turns her head askance too look back to Puck, who seemed a little bottled up in his own thoughts. She gives a slight frown when looks towards Seth’s expression… was everything okay? She can’t quite tell. It’s late and she always fills the double turn during seasons and festivities.
Keeping an eye on Puck isn’t difficult, even as Seth looks otherwise busy, and the sight of the man starting to push sugar packets onto the floor already has Seth waiting to see when Pandora would be able to see what he was saying. As soon as she turns to look at him he’s already signing a question. ‘You want to talk to him or me?’
Assuming it would work if he did, anyway, there was always the chance it wouldn’t considering Puck didn’t look like any of the regulars.

It’s impossible to miss the somewhat pouty expression on the human-appearing fae’s face as he tugs open the door to the cafe and shuffles in. Almost as noticeable as the pointing and the sideways glances from the male employee and Pandy had been from his post outside. No excited waving, not even a smile that he’d come to pick her up. With all the sulkiness of a toddler who was being ignored he plops down into the closest chair, chin in hands and silently grumbling to himself that it seems he needs to look into some sign language classes…Pandora observes askance towards her poor ignored child that suddenly decided to steps in and sank weight on a chair. His expression is all adorable. She can tell. Not often he looks like this front her, at least not if he fakes it. She glares away with a half smile while.cleans the surface of the now empty tables and pick up the dirty cups the clients left.
“Hey Seth! Do you have another free tray?” She asks to her partner, leaving the full one she was using with the things she has to put inside the washer..
The door opening already having caught his attention, Seth’s already paused partway through his cleaning before he sighs and goes to wash his hands off. ‘In a minute, yeah,’ he signs quickly afterward with still wet hands, going to dry them as soon as he’s replied.
From the look of things, though, it doesn’t look like there’d be an order for anything from Puck; regardless, he could at least be ready if there was.

‘Right… leave him alone, or ask him to leave?’ It wouldn’t be the first time he’d done something like that, though Seth hadn’t had to, yet, since he’d moved. His hands still after that while waiting for her response as he keeps an eye on Puck at the door.
She understands him but raises a hand in sign of denial. What if he gets hurts!. “No no, leave him. for staring no one calls the cops. Besides, we can alarm the clients” and the last thing she needs is losing sales for someone standing front the door- “We still have work to do before close.”
‘Alright, if you say so.’ Shrugging it off, Seth turns back to what he was doing, going back to cleaning out the coffee machine’s overflow tray. Before he starts, though, he looks toward Pandora. ‘You want to get the tables while I get this?’ he asks first.
“I will do that yes. I hope that no one else decides to comes in while the last clients leaves. That would be troublesome” Pandora looks back toward the entrance before get the products to clean and disinfect tables and chairs.
‘Thanks… you think that might be a problem?’ It looked pretty quiet outside, except for the man who was still waiting by the door where Seth was able to see him. Trying to pay more attention to his task, his keeping busy makes it more difficult to talk.

With all the sulkiness of a toddler who was being ignored he plops down into the closest chair, chin in hands and silently grumbling to himself that it seems he needs to look into some sign language classes…
Pandora observes askance towards her poor ignored child that suddenly decided to steps in and sank weight on a chair.
